End Citizens United has endorsed Randy Bryce for Congress.

ECU, in a news release this week, called Bryce a staunch advocate for campaign finance reform and said the Democrat is committed to unrigging the system and making Washington work for all Americans.

Bryce is running for the Wisconsin congressional seat held by House Speaker Paul Ryan, described by ECU as "one of the strongest defenders of the Big Money machine in Washington."

“Randy Bryce stands as a champion of the people, and we’re proud to endorse him in his run against Speaker Paul Ryan,” said Tiffany Muller, president and executive director of End Citizens United. “Randy has been outspoken about our broken system, and he understands the corrupting influence of Big Money in politics, a sharp contrast to Paul Ryan - the definition of a career politician stuck deep in the pockets of his mega-donors and special interest groups."

Bryce, in a statement, said, "The corrosive impact of unlimited, undisclosed donations from the special interests, powerful elite and the ultra-rich casts aside the voice of the common people, and makes government the playground of the insiders and the wealthy — instead of serving the many."

He added, "I am proud that my people-powered campaign is averaging just $25 per donation, because we are fueled by grassroots movement for change that puts working people and everyday Wisconsinites first. I will never stop fighting to overturn the toxic Citizens United decision, and pass real, meaningful campaign finance reform that puts power squarely where it belongs — with the people."

Ryan, ECU said, "has committed himself to protecting the rigged system fueled by unlimited and undisclosed money in elections. He’s bought and paid for by the special interests who are backing his allied Super PAC, the Congressional Leadership Fund, which is almost entirely funded by secretive dark money."

Ryan also helped lead the fight against such bipartisan campaign finance reform bills as McCain-Feingold and the more recent DISCLOSE Act. He also has also fought to block an effort to advance a constitutional amendment to overturn Citizens United.

ECU is a grassroots-funded organization dedicated to electing members of Congress who will fight to overturn Citizens United and pass campaign finance reform.

The PAC will connect Bryce’s campaign with its nearly 5,000 members in Wisconsin’s 1st Congressional District.
