TranSquat for the iPhone

New to Apple’s App store is TranSquat, an iPhone application assisting people looking for gender-neutral rest rooms.

Developer Bill Bolt says, “In a nutshell, it is a gender-neutral bathroom finder that locates bathrooms that are gender free relative to your current location. You can search, add and share safe locations.”

The app, according to a news release, was “written by and for the trans community” using data from www.safe2pee.”

The app debuted with about 4,000 rest room locations in the United States and United Kingdom.

Users can continue to build the resource by adding locations to the app from their own communities.

The press release said the app is “useful for transgender or gender-variant individuals because sometimes finding a safe, discreet and comfortable rest room can be a challenge and/or safety issue depending on where one is in transition or geographic location.”

The app can be downloaded for $2.99.
