Hispanic Professionals of Greater Milwaukee and speaker-sponsor BMO Harris Bank will collaborate to host Diane Guerrero as the guest keynote speaker for the 2018 Five Star Gala. The Colombian-American actress, activist and author is best known for her role in the award-winning Netflix series Orange is the New Black as Maritza Ramos.
HPGM’s Five Star Gala celebrates and recognizes the organization’s 17 years of leadership, while raising awareness for its scholarship and professional development programs. Since 2004, HPGM has awarded nearly $400,000 to students pursuing both undergraduate and advances degrees. HPGM is dedicated to cultivating and supporting Hispanics, ensuring that everyone has access to the tools that they need to succeed professionally and give back to the community.
Five Star Gala will be held at The Pfister Hotel, 424 E. Wisconsin Ave, on May 12. The event will begin with opening remarks at 7 p.m., with a VIP event taking place from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
