On May 22, the top floor of LVL Complex in Walker’s Point will be unveiled to the public during a Spring Open House event. The top floor, called LVL Events, will be open to the public for the first time. Attendees can meet the staff, take a tour of the space and enjoy food and cocktails.
LVL Events underwent a major transformation along with the rest of the building, including a new name, new owners and renovations. This is the first time the event space will be open to the public.
“We are excited to reveal our new event space to the public, and we are excited to be a part of the increased business and entertainment activity in Walker’s Point,” stated George D. Prentice, Jr., co-owner of LVL Complex, in a press release.
LVL Events is a new alternative event space currently booking weddings, corporate events and large private parties. Some highlights of the space include a large, circular bar; seating for 200, a full stage and sound system for performers, bands, or DJs; a dance floor, LCD screens, professional lighting, bridal and VIP room, a 1,600 square foot outside deck, and private entry.
“The space offers a rich atmosphere for any event, from the Cream City brick to the unlimited floor plan options, to the additional venues within the same building,” Prentice stated in a press release.
The variety of spaces within LVL Complex adds to the appeal of the event space, offering a variety of options for post-event activities. Those looking to keep the party going can move to the LVL Dance night club for those looking to keep the party going, and those looking to wind down can cap their night off at the LVL Bistro.
The building that houses LVL Complex is one of the most elaborate and eclectic commercial buildings of its size, according to the Library of Congress. Soon after Prentice and co-owner Corey Grubb purchased the building in 1984, it became La Cage aux Folles, a pioneer for Milwaukee LGBTQ bars. Prentice and Grubb sold the building in 2005 to retire, but when the building went up for sale again in 2017, they repurchased the business and transformed it into LVL Complex.
The Spring Open House will open at 4 p.m. and run until 8 p.m. Events Complex is located at 801 S. 2nd St. (the entrance is the center door on 2nd St.). To RSVP to the event, send an email to or call (414) 376-8651.
