Lisa Rasmussen - RTW

Renaissance Theaterworks (RTW) announced the promotion of Lisa Rasmussen as the company’s new managing director.

“I’m thrilled to lead Renaissance Theaterworks alongside my dear friend, inspiring colleague and partner-in-crime Lisa Rasmussen,” said Suzan Fete, co-founder and artistic director.

Rasmussen has served as RTW’s director of development for the last nine seasons. Since 2008, Rasmussen has exceeded income goals and has grown RTW’s income by 120%, attributing to the company’s 25 years of debt-free operation. Rasmussen holds a Bachelors of Arts in Theatre & Phycology from Cardinal Stritch University, in addition to her over 15 years of experience in development, marketing, and non-profit theater management.

“It is my life's passion to support human connection through superb storytelling at Renaissance Theaterworks,” Rasmussen said. “Also, the current gender disparity in theater business is not widely known. I am energized to help build awareness and work toward change. What gets me up every morning is helping to create a home for women in Milwaukee theater.”

Rasmussen will assume full managing director duties in December 2017, following Producing Director Julie Swenson’s departure from the company.
