Pabst Mansion to hold events celebrating 125th anniversary
The historic Pabst Mansion is celebrating its 125th anniversary. A series of upcoming events through the end of the year will highlight the legacy of the Pabst family in the Milwaukee community. These events include:
Retro Beer Night
Oct. 6
6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
This is an evening of beer tasting, brats and dogs, and the sounds of live polka music by Jeff Winard Polka Party; a Breweriana Silent Auction featuring auction items that include new, retro and antique beer memorabilia; and Dr. Dawg’s food truck serving food. Tickets are $20 for members and $25 for non-members. Tickets can be purchased at the Pabst Mansion, via telephone at 414-931-0808 or online at pabstmansion.com.
Grand Tour Day
Oct. 7
10 a.m. to 3:15 p.m.
Visitors will be allowed to explore all 20,000-square-feet of the Victorian mansion. Last entry is at 3:15 p.m. No reservations are needed. Members receive free admission; $15 for non-members.
Murder Mystery Dinner
Oct. 13
6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
In partnership with Get Away with Murder Productions, the Pabst Mansion is serving cocktails and a three-course dinner while guests try to solve a cold murder case that was part of a feud in Ragtime. Tickets are $165 and must be purchased before the event. For more info, call 414-931-0808. The Murder Mystery Dinner is limited to the first 40 guests, whichmust be 21 years of age.
Upcoming Holiday Events
A Grand Avenue Christmas
Nov. 17 to Jan. 8, 2018
Three floors are open to the public to visit the Pabst Mansion during the holiday season, sponsored by BMO Financial Group. Cost is $12.50 for adults and free for children 16 and under.
A Grand Avenue Christmas Gala
Nov. 16
6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
A special evening at the Pabst Mansion with hors d’oeuvres and champagne while listening to traditional Christmas music. Cost is $25 for members and $40 for non-members.
Dinner and a Show
Dec. 7, 14 and 16
Guests will begin the evening with a glass of wine before experiencing a dinner prepared by Shully’s Cuisine. Following dinner, guests will descend the grand staircase to board a luxury motor coach that will take them to the historic Pabst Theater to attend the Milwaukee Repertory Theater’s annual production of the Charles Dickens’ classic A Christmas Carol. Following the production, guests will be returned to the Pabst Mansion. Only 20 seats are available per evening. Cost is $175 for adults and $85 for children.
Christmas Twilight Tours at the Pabst Mansion
Nov. 24 and Dec. 22
6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
The open house invites guests to enjoy the Pabst Mansion by the glow of the original light fixtures and illuminated Christmas trees. Self-guided tours take guests through each room. There will also be a live performance by zitherist Kurt Eckroth and vocalist Megan Eckroth. Cost is $15 for adults; $8 for children, and free for children under six.
