PrideFest has announced its 2018 headlining acts, and one act has been singing about a “love getaway” for decades.

The B-52s, Jussie Smollett and Daya will headline PrideFest 2018 on the Miller Lite Main stage this June 8, 9 and 10 on the Summerfest grounds.

2018 marks the third decade of pride celebrations in Milwaukee. The first official PrideFest was held in 1988, which included a softball tournament at Mitchell Park, a picnic, a formal ball and a film festival. The festival continued to grow each year, eventually moving to the Summerfest grounds in 1996.

PrideFest is celebrating its 31st official celebratory year and 22nd year at the Summerfest Grounds with a kick-off party on June 7. The celebration is sponsored by ARCW and Energy106.9 and will take place in the Dance Pavilion only. For a $10 admission fee, attendees will enjoy sets by east-coast DJ trio Cash Cash along with a lineup of local entertainment comprised of DJs, Drag artists, dancers and more.

“Not only does this expansion and line up mean growth for Milwaukee Pride, Inc. and PrideFest, it means growth in tourism, national recognition and activation in our wonderful city,” stated Milwaukee Pride Board President Wes Shaver in a press release. “We are thrilled to be adding an additional day to contribute to our community beneficiary, PLUS ONE partner and further inject resources into our local LGBT community."”

Grammy award-winner Daya will kick off the festival on June 8 on the Miller Lite Mainstage. Actor, director and singer songwriter Jussie Smollett, known for his role in the hit television drama Empire, will headline the following day. The grand finale will see a headlining performance by the B-52s on June 10, an artist that has been at the top of the PrideFest “artist wish list” for years.

PrideFest Milwaukee 2018 will be held at Henry W. Maier Festival Park located at 200 N. Harbor Dr. Additional guests, and entertainment schedules will be announced soon at pridefest.com. Visit pridefest.com/tickets to purchase a weekend pass.
