PRIDE ALIVE AND MORE: Wisconsin continues to celebrate LGBTQ Pride with events through September. Green Bay Pride Alive is July 8 at Joannes Park. Kenosha Pride is July 16 at Library Park. Fox Valley Pride Outloud is July 30 at Riverview Gardens in Appleton. Outreach Pride Parade and Rally is Aug. 20 at the state Capitol in Madison. La Crosse Pride is Sept. 9 in Riverside Park.

CELEBRATING THIS LAND: The Madison Audubon Society brings Terry Tempest Williams — author of the environmental classic Refuge and the newly published The Hour of Land — to the Madison Central Library July 7. The event involves Audubon, the central library, Wisconsin Book Festival, Natural Heritage Land Trust, Gathering Waters: Wisconsin’s Alliance for Land Trusts, and the Ice Age Trail Alliance. HUMANE BILL AGAINST ANIMAL TESTING: The Humane Society Legislative Fund encourages you to contact your U.S. senators and representative and urge support for the Humane Cosmetics Act. The measure would prohibit animal testing for cosmetics. Tell them you personally care that animals are harmed for personal care products. For more, go to hslf.org.

ABOUT FLINT: Registration already is underway for the Wisconsin League of Conservation Voters’ annual Green Tie Gala set for Oct. 17 at Discovery World in Milwaukee.
