UWM professor Robin Mello and her theater students will collaborate on Orphan Train, a devised work of theater about the experiences of 14 individuals who traveled by train to the Midwest in the late 19th-early 20th century. Many of them were orphaned or abandoned children from the East Coast. The compelling script is based on research of historical records such as letters, photographs and newspaper clippings from 1853 to 1929, and features a number of direct ties to Milwaukee.
April 6 to 10 at Kenilworth Square E., Milwaukee. $11, $9 for students, seniors and faculty. uwm.edu/psoa.
