Milwaukee Riverkeeper event to educate public on health of Milwaukee River Basin
Milwaukee Riverkeeper hosts its annual fall member event on Saturday, Oct. 16 from 12 to 2 p.m. The event — held at the Milwaukee Sail Loft, 649 E. Erie St. in Milwaukee — provides an opportunity for the public to learn about the health of the Milwaukee River Basin, including specifics on the Milwaukee, Menomonee, and Kinnickinnic Rivers.
Milwaukee Riverkeeper, Cheryl Nenn, and water quality specialist Zac Driscoll, will be sharing highlights of the 2015 Milwaukee River Basin Report Card, an annual report on water quality and river health. Attendees will learn about the organization’s volunteer water quality monitoring program and will get the most up-to-date information on advocacy efforts in achieving swimmable, fishable rivers in the Milwaukee River Basin.
The event is free and open to the public, members and non-members alike. Light food and refreshments will be provided. For more information, visit milwaukeeriverkeeper.org.
