For decades, Skylight’s calling card was Gilbert & Sullivan, but the company’s evolution in the past few years temporarily left the British opera masters out in the cold. No longer: The duo’s best-known work, Pirates of Penzance, will close out the company’s 2015–16 season. The comic operetta tells a story about a crew of tender-hearted pirates, dim-witted young lovers and, most famously, the “very model of a modern Major-General.”
