‘Ohlsson Plays Brahms’

Pianist Garrick Ohlsson has a repertoire of more than 80 concertos, but this concert he’s focusing on just one: the first piano concerto by German composer Johannes Brahms. That concerto’s scale and grandeur will be perfectly balanced by its elegant compatriots on the program: Richard Strauss’ tone poem Don Juan and (in an Madison Symphony Orchestra debut) Steven Stucky’s Symphony No. 1.

April 1 to 3 at Overture Center, Madison. $16 to $85. madisonsymphony.org.
