Off the Wall artistic director Dale Gutzman has done Hamlet before, but never quite like this.

He and his actors cleared their calendars, adopting an irregular eight-week rehearsal schedule in order to come up with answers to the literally hundreds of questions the play poses — from simple choices like “Does Gertrude know more than she lets on?” to complex philosophical problems like “Are we in control of our own destiny?” The results will play out for three weeks, in front of only 25 audience members each night.
