Christian network seeks to cover-up Robertson’s claim that gays use special rings to spread HIV

The Christian Broadcasting Network is trying to cover up televangelist Pat Robertson’s claim that gays in San Francisco have special rings that they use to cut people and spread HIV., affiliated with the People for the American Way, is reporting that CBN edited the statement out of an online broadcast of Robertson on his “700 Club” show and then removed its YouTube video of Robertson making the claim.

Then CBN filed a copyright complaint against RightWingWatch for posting the video, which the website said was removed only temporarily.

The video, as of mid-morning on Aug. 28, was on Vimeo.

Robertson, as quoted by RightWingWatch, says “You know what they do in San Francisco, some in the gay community there they want to get people so if they got the stuff they’ll have a ring, you shake hands, and the ring’s got a little thing where you cut your finger. …Really. It’s that kind of vicious stuff, which would be the equivalent of murder.”

The discussion began with Robertson responding to a viewer’s question about “catching AIDS.”
