Love was in the air as Lynley Bendall and Ally Wanikau walked down the aisle of an airplane to exchange vows.
The couple celebrated the legalization of same-sex marriage in New Zealand on Monday by getting hitched in a plane. The seatbelt-fasten signs were off.
Along for the ride was Jesse Tyler Ferguson, star of the ABC sitcom “Modern Family.”
Monday is the first day same-sex couples can marry in New Zealand under a law passed in April. About three dozen same-sex couples planned to marry in towns and cities throughout the country.
Bendall and Wanikau were flying high after winning a promotion by national carrier Air New Zealand.
They have been together 13 years and have three foster children.
New Zealand is the 13th nation to legalize marriage equality.
