Despite new limits on the number of parade entries allowed and a shortened parade route, an estimated 1 million people attended Chicago’s 44th annual Pride Parade yesterday. Marchers, including many of Illinois’ political leaders and representatives of major corporations, stepped off at noon at the intersection of Montrose Avenue and Broadway in Uptown and marched to the intersection of Diversey and Sheridan Road in Lincoln Park.
The city held its first weekend Pride Festival in Lakeview on the weekend prior to the Parade. Below are some pictures from the parade courtesy of chicagopride.com.
