ACLU offers ticket give-away contest for ‘Avenue Q’
The ACLU of Wisconsin is sponsoring a contest to win free tickets to “Avenue Q”– the award-winning musical that launches Skylight Music Theatre’s 2012-13 season.
Go to “Avenue Q” ticket contest to enter a contest to win passes to the Sept. 20 performance, which is also a fundraiser for the ACLU that includes cocktails and hors d’oeuvres.
“Avenue Q” is Triple Crown Tony Award winner, taking home statues for Best Musical, Best Score and Best Book in 2004. The Skylight’s presentation is the first professional production of the musical in Milwaukee.
“Along with Cream City Foundation and Harley-Davidson Motor Company, we applaud Skylight for bringing this edgy but hilarious show to Milwaukee’s audiences,” said Chris Ahmuty, executive director of the ACLU of Wisconsin. “With its commentary on racism, pornography and sexuality, ‘Avenue Q’ is entertaining, but also challenges us to live out our democracy’s promise of free expression.”
