2nd suspect arrested in N.C. gay-bashing
Police say they have charged an Asheville, N.C., teen in connection with an assault investigators have labeled a hate crime.
The 15-year-old was charged July 21 with assault and damage to property.
The teen and three others are accused of taunting a man as gay, then assaulting him in the parking lot of an Asheville grocery store Feb. 14. He was treated for broken facial bones.
Police say the officer who originally responded to the incident also is under investigation for not filing a police report on the matter.
