Canadian Pacific Holiday Train

The Wauwatosa Village Business Improvement District announced that the Canadian Pacific Holiday Train will be returning to Wauwatosa with a stop scheduled for the evening of Sunday, Dec. 3.

The train will stop at the intersection of Harwood Ave. and the CP railroad tracks just south of Menomonee River at 4:15 p.m. The Holiday Train stop features a 30-minute musical performance by Canadian music artists and a visit from Santa Claus starting at 4:30 p.m.

Last year’s CP Holiday Train visit drew an estimated 8,000 visitors to Wauwatosa Village and helped collect 8,500 pounds of food, raising nearly $600 (including a donation from Canadian Pacific) for Tosa Cares, helping them feed local families. This year’s visit will again seek to support needy local families through Tosa Cares with donations of food and cash made before or during the actual train visit.

“All of Wauwatosa and the greater community welcomes the Holiday Train returning to the Village,” said Wauwatosa Mayor Kathy Ehley. “We look forward to holding another fun, safe and exciting event while supporting those in need during the holidays.”

Wauwatosa Girl Scouts Michaela Miller and Madison Sveum helped organize and bring the train to Wauwatosa Village in 2015, receiving several local awards and Scout recognition for their amazing effort. The Wauwatosa Village Business Improvement District is coordinating this year’s visit with help from the City of Wauwatosa, its police and fire departments, Tosa Cares and Canadian Pacific.

“The food and money we received from last year’s visit helped feed local families throughout the winter,” said Linda Ertel of Tosa Cares. “Besides helping raise the support for those in need, it also means a lot to be involved in such a wonderful community event.”

The All Aboard for Tosa Cares Holiday Train event is sponsored by UW Credit Union and Suzanne Powers Realty Group. More information on the CP Holiday train and schedule can be found at cpr.ca/holiday-train/schedule-united-states.
