Utahans back anti-discrimination measure

A poll for the Salt Lake Tribune found that 66 percent of Utahans support a statewide measure banning bias based on gender identity and sexual orientation.

Support in the heavily Mormon state climbed 11 percentage points from a year ago.

In late 2009, Salt Lake City lawmakers amended anti-discrimination ordinances to include protections for LGBT people in housing and employment.
