The Girls’ Ghostly Gala hosted by Women’s Voices Milwaukee is on Oct. 27 at the Marian Center, 3211 S. Lake Drive, Milwaukee, from 7 p.m. to midnight.

Women’s Voices Milwaukee president Liz Doan said, “This is one of the two major dances held each year in the lesbian community. We’re excited to have the opportunity to build it into the social event of the fall season.

“We hope to draw women from Milwaukee, Madison, Chicago and the surrounding area as we take the dance to the next level.”

The event takes place in the gymnasium of the Marian Center, which once housed an all-girls’ Catholic school.

Organizers plan a costume contest, prizes, a cash bar and “other treats.”

Tickets sell for $10, with the proceeds supporting Women’s Voices Milwaukee and its mission is to “entertain, inspire and heal through the power of choral music.”
