A nationwide same-sex kiss-in is set for Aug. 3 at Chick-fil-A restaurants in the United States.
A Facebook event page says, “In honor of their support for love, equality, and the real definition of family, we’re holding a NATIONAL Same Sex Kiss Day at Chick Fil A’s around the country. So grab a friend (or 20) and head out to your nearest Chick Fil A! And don’t forget to post photos/videos of it here! For all the world to see!”
The page shows Carly McGehee, an assistant director at the Fund for the Public Interest and a New York City resident, as the founder of the protest that follows anti-gay comments from Chick-fil-A's president and chief operating officer and heightened interest in the company's $2 million donations to anti-gay organizations.
A post announcing the event said, “Unless you’ve been living under a rock this week you’ll have noticed that Chick Fil A has officially come out against the LGBTQ community.”
The company’s website shows one restaurant in Wisconsin – 5802 Durand Ave., Racine.
