The Milwaukee Area Domestic Animal Control Commission will host a cat adoption event from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Sat., June 21. All cats and kittens are vaccinated, de-wormed, micro-chipped for identification, tested for feline leukemia, and spayed/neutered. In addition to the adoption event, The Cats’ Voice, a group of volunteers dedicated to providing and promoting the health and stabilization of area cats, is hosting a “Kitten Shower.” During the warm months, shelters receive an influx of kittens due to the abundance of unspayed cats giving birth. The “kitten shower” educates the public on the importance of spaying and neutering cats to reduce unwanted litters and overpopulation and to collect supplies to care for the new kittens. Supplies needed include: canned and dry kitten food, KMR (kitten milk replacer) and blankets. Supplies can be dropped off at the event or any time during MADACC’s open hours.
