Alliance for LGBTQ Youth
Education
Wisconsin-based non-profit organization that specializes in working with at-risk and vulnerable teens (14 to 18 years old) and young adults (18 to 30 years old.) FLYY’s unique program design couples three major elements: a wilderness expedition, parent/guardian support, and ongoing community-based aftercare. FLYY works collaboratively with youth and family-serving agencies and organizations that focus on mental health, delinquency prevention, substance abuse, truancy/dropouts. Many young people served by FLYY are marginalized, overlooked, and not effectively reached by, or able to access existing community resources. Impact FLYY aims to impact youth and families in 3 ways: •The development of young people with regard to pro-social behaviors and self-efficacy/self-esteem. •Capacity building of parents/guardians elated to healthy communication, expectations, and role modeling. •Strengthening family systems that are under duress and improve their ability to navigate difficulties.
FreeSpeakers.org is a pro bono speaker’s bureau for Milwaukee and the surrounding area. All speakers give free presentations. This means there is no charge, no honorarium, no mileage costs. This service is 100% FREE to groups needing speakers. Categories of topics and speakers include: Business, Health and Fitness, Education, Self Improvement, and more. FreeSpeakers.org is the solution for Chambers of Commerce, libraries, Rotary and Kiwanis groups, clubs, retirement communities, churches, etc., who need and want speakers for their programs but who have limited (or no) budgets. Speakers pay a modest annual fee to be members of FreeSpeakers.org. What’s in it for them? Certainly not money. They want to teach others, tell of a personal mission and/or be better known in the community.
