COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) — A gay pride group returned to South Carolina’s capital city to hold its annual parade and festival.

The South Carolina Pride 2010 parade took place at noon Saturday at Assembly and Laurel streets in downtown Columbia. The parade moved through downtown and ends at Finlay Park.

The festival that caps off a week of events in Columbia featured multi-platinum recording artist Taylor Dayne and singer-songwriter Cris Williams. An after party at PT’s 1109 featured DJ Chris Cox.

Admission is free.

Rainbow-striped flags went up Monday on lamp posts marking the parade route.
