A Pittsburgh man on probation for smashing $14,000 worth of windows during the Group of 20 economic summit two years ago was sentenced on Jan. 17 for disorderly conduct and obstructing roads during a gay rights protest in August.
Judge Edward Borkowski sentenced 22-year-old David Japenga to restarting his five years' probation from the earlier sentence, according to AP.
Japenga was part of a group who gathered outside of a bar to protest violence against the LGBT community. Police say they asked the group not to block the road and to move, but Japenga refused to comply.
Japenga's attorney says his client is working two jobs in order to make payments toward the more than $12,000 in restitution he still owes.
