Radio host Linda Harvey of Mission America went on an anti-gay rant during her “Christian” radio show yesterday, warning parents to keep their children away from LGBT healthcare professionals. Her implication was that exposing young kids to LGBT people in a medical setting could turn them gay.

Harvey acknowledged that LGBT healthcare professionals “can be certainly competent workers," but she expressed concerns that “their involvement with your child during a hospital stay is sure to be an influence ... they are tacking on to their workplace identity one that is highly offensive to many people and can be erroneously influential to children who won’t, or shouldn’t, see the whole picture of how this behavior really manifests itself.”

“(Let’s) say your 11-year-old has broken her leg rather badly and needs to be in the hospital a few days, which would you prefer: a nurse who’s proud of her lesbianism, who has rainbow identifiers on her work clothing, or a nurse who does not?” Harvey asked listeners.

Harvey indicated that it was OK to allow openly gay or lesbian doctors and nurses to treat children under emergency circumstances. But otherwise she advised parents to “write a letter that you file with your pediatrician that should your child ever be hospitalized, you do not want your child to be treated or cared for” by an out gay person.

Oh, so all comments have to be reviewed before being posted? It's obvious that only pro-homosexual comments are posted to your site and any one in opposition to this lifestyle will not be posted. After reading all of the comments on your page, I know you'll not be fair and post mine. Talk about one sided. Fair and balanced? ...Yeah, Right.

Your comment about being being an idiot was posted, how was this a change from what you would have originally posted?

As a Christian myself I am very saddened to hear another talk like this. I don't agree with lesbianism but regardless of how we feel about the act, we are to love everyone. Sad that she misses the point of our Christian faith. What an opportunity that child or parents of the child would have to share God's love with that nurse. We are not to hide ourselves away from the world, but to reach out with God's love to everyone. It is by his love displayed through us that people come to know Him in a personal way.

First, the passage Holly refers to in the Bible (JUDGE NOT) is Matthew 7 and in this passage it is NOT telling the reader NOT to judge, but not to make hypocritical or harsh judgment (read the text). Secondly, any person (homosexual or heterosexual) could have an influence over a child and I for one would not want an openly homosexual person alone with any of my children, just as I wouldn't want an adulterer or thief or lier alone with them. Anyone who practices homosexuality is in violation of God's law, the Bible. That's not my decision, it's God's.

Linda Harvey, the foulest KKKristian in Amurika. In the infamous Nazi Julius Streicher’s equally infamous children’s book, “The Poisonous Mushroom” (Der Giftpilz) one of the chapters is about a poor German maiden visiting, gasp, the Jewish doctor. Linda Harvey is an apt pupil of the old masters.

Mrs. Harvey,

With all due respect I have no intention for a response in irritated english. If that is the way you think, entitled to your opinion as you are. You really dropped the ball not only professionally, ethically, and morally. You are NOT GOD, JESUS, sure not MARY, or JOSEPH. Your platform has very well been abused! Eventhough your resignation would be just amazing to hear. If you really think about A gay person lesbian, queer, transgender has touched your life in some way or another. I am not sorry for you. I feel no need for someone's mouth that over-rhode their ass! As far as class get some it may take lifetimes in your case

Thank you,
Best Reguards, ML
