FIGHTING FOR FAIR ELECTIONS: A town hall for fair election maps takes place at 6 p.m. Sept. 12 at Washington Park Library, 2121 N. Sherman Blvd., Milwaukee. Speakers include Shauntay Nelson of Wisconsin Voices and former state lawmakers Dale Schultz, a Republican, and Tim Cullen, a Democrat. Sponsors include Citizen Action of Wisconsin, Fair Elections Project, Wisconsin Voices, the ACLU and other groups. Expect to hear “what you need to know about unfair voting maps, why the U.S. Supreme Court will hear the most important case of the decade against Wisconsin’s unfair voting maps and what we can do to get fair voting maps.” Connect: citizenactionwi.org.

ANOTHER SATURDAY NIGHT?: The Sustainable Saturday Night program and potluck is a joint project of the Eastside Planning Council, the Emerson East Neighborhood Association’s Sustainability Task Force and the James Reeb Peace, Justice and Sustainability Group. REAL ENVIROMENTAL PROTECTION ASSEMBLY: The New People Environmental Summit takes place 10 a.m.–6 p.m. Oct. 14 at Nekoosa Ho-Chunk Casino, 949 County Road G, Nekoosa. The summit is “bringing native people and the rest of us together in protecting our environment for the next seven generations.” Speakers include Kimberly Wright of Midwest Environmental Advocates, Indian County News publisher Paul Demain, Ho-Chunk tribal member John Greendeer and activist-scientist Juliee de la terra. OUR WATER, OUR FUTURE: The Wisconsin League of Conservation Voters is selling tickets to its annual Green Tie Gala, set for Oct. 17 at Discovery World in Milwaukee.
