MOVEON TO INDEPENDENT COMMISSION: Following Donald Trump’s dismissal of FBI Director James Comey, U.S. Rep. Jerry Nadler, D-N.Y., launched a petition drive on MoveOn.org. Nadler wants to collect 300,000 signatures on a petition calling for a bipartisan, independent commission to investigate the Trump administration’s foreign entanglements. LAND AND BODY: The Wisconsin Coalition Against Sexual Assault in Madison announces a training program at the Ho Chunk Casino in Baraboo to deal with gender-based violence in rural and tribal communities. The program focuses on the connection between “violence against women and violence against the earth and how both have manifested in Wisconsin.” The training takes place July 25–26.
