Women Who Kill

Milwaukee LGBT Film Fest names 'festival centerpiece'

The comedy Women Who Kill is the "festival centerpiece" at the 31st Annual Milwaukee LGBT Film/Video Festival. The film will screen at the Downer Theater on Oct. 19 at 7:30 p.m.

Ingrid Jungermann's award-winning dark comedy maps the post-relationship dilemmas of Morgan and her ex-girlfriend Jean. The two work together as true crime podcasters obsessed with female serial killers. Their part-time criminology is of no help when a secretive new romantic interest starts courting Morgan and sinister doings surface.

"Women Who Kill is the funniest film of the festival," said Carl Bogner, festival director and instructor in University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee's department of film, video, animation, and new genres.

Jungermann is the creator of the web series The Slope and F to 7th. Her debut feature has won screenwriting awards at this year's Tribeca and Outfest Film Festivals.

The Milwaukee LGBT Film/Video Festival opens on Oct. 12 with the award-winning documentary Kiki, then continues Oct. 14 through Oct. 23. For more information, visit uwm.edu/lgbtfilmfestival.
